I’m asking you to join me in a first of its kind program aimed at finding children with developmental problems early, by teaching best practices in screening and referral.

The Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (OAAP) and Center for Health Care Quality at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center will host a variety of free learning activities on autism and developmental screening. This program is funded through grants from the Ohio Department of Health and Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Concerns about development are common, with delays affecting 1 in every 8 children in Ohio. Practices like yours will learn how to implement a system of care that promotes early identification and referral for children with developmental concerns. You will also learn about the latest and most practical tools for developmental screening and how to be paid for your team’s time and efforts.

National and state experts on screening and quality improvement will offer day long workshops, webinars, conference calls, webcasts to get you started. To keep you going, we will offer continuing support to sustain your team’s progress. Plus, we will work with you to foster better relationships with local early intervention agencies to optimize collaboration and communication for the benefit of patients and practices.

In addition to providing better care in an efficient setting, collaborative participants will be eligible for Maintenance of Certification (MOC) through the American Board of Pediatrics. We are also applying for CME and CEU for nurses and physician for in person and on-line activities.Plus, the first 100 practices who sign up will receive more than $450 in free screening kits, along with the satisfaction of knowing that you’re involved in trendsetting care that helps protect Ohio’s children.

This is a critical time for our state, and I believe this opportunity can help you provide the best care in a way that allows you to be paid fairly for your work. I encourage you to visit the following links to learn more about our efforts. We've also included a link where you can apply today:

I look forward to working with you.

 Sincerely,
